On 2 December, the Financial Times (FT) released the results of this year’s European Business School Rankings. Not only has Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) secured its place on the list, but it has also risen once again in this esteemed ranking.

In the most recent ranking conducted by the Financial Times, the FT European Business School Rankings 2024 that is, LUSEM has once again demonstrated an ascent, advancing by 2 positions to secure the 68th position compared to its previous standing at last year's #70. To make it onto this prestigious list at all is indeed a source of pride considering the extensive pool of just over 400 business schools across Europe. The inclusion of only 100 in the FT ranking underscores the significance of this accomplishment.

Testament to ongoing efforts

Ulrika Wennersten, Vice dean of education at LUSEM thinks that this consistent improvement reflects the strengths of the educational approach at the School.

“This improvement highlights the strengths of our research-based education, which is driven by our exceptional faculty. Their dedication ensures that cutting-edge academic insights are integrated with a focus on sustainability, ethics, and global perspectives, which develops reflective, critical thinkers who are prepared to tackle complex global challenges,” she says.

When asked what this continued progress in the ranking reveals about the direction of LUSEM, Dean of LUSEM Joakim Gullstrand, says:

“I’m really proud that LUSEM has once again improved its position in the Financial Times rankings, reflecting the quality of our programmes and the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students. This progress is a testament to our ongoing efforts to deliver education and research of the highest standard”.

The ranking of rankings”

The FT European Business School Rankings, can be described as 'The ranking of rankings': Every year the Financial Times ranks a larger number of business schools in Europe, this year 100 distinguished business schools are on the list. This assessment is derived from the performance of European schools in the most recent individual rankings of global providers for MBAs, EMBAs and MiMs, as well as for non-degree executive education courses. The individual FT rankings take into account graduate outcomes, including salary and career progress, as well as factors such as quality of research and international and gender diversity of students, faculty and school governing bodies.

Recognition in prestigious international rankings

LUSEM stands out prominently in the global arena of business education, consistently earning recognition in prestigious international rankings. For example we are one of a small number of schools worldwide to be triple accredited by the three leading bodies, AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. At the webpage about accreditations and rankings we have gathered relevant information and also the latest ranking news.
