European Entrepreneurship Education Award
The European Entrepreneurship Education Award (EEEA) is presented annually by the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship. This prestigious accolade recognises individuals or organisations that have made outstanding contributions to the improvement of entrepreneurship education in academia across Europe. The EEEA is comprised of the honour and a diploma, as well as a sum of 100,000 SEK.
Purpose of the Award
The EEEA aims to:
- Highlight the critical role of teaching and learning in entrepreneurship across Europe, emphasizing the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets and skills.
- Encourage the development and adoption of innovative teaching methodologies that enrich the educational experience and effectiveness in the field of entrepreneurship.
- Disseminate cutting-edge practices and insights in entrepreneurial education among a diverse audience, including scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and educators, to foster a collaborative and progressive educational environment.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees for the EEEA can be individuals or organisations active within Europe that have made significant strides in developing educational, research, or outreach initiatives that enhance the pedagogy of entrepreneurship. The award seeks to recognise those who have not only contributed to the academic discourse but have also implemented practical solutions that enrich the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The criteria for evaluating nominees
The EEEA committee evaluates nominees based on a comprehensive assessment of the following criteria:
- The degree to which the nominee has introduced new and creative approaches to entrepreneurship education that challenge traditional methods and offer fresh perspectives.
- The extent to which the nominee's contributions have the potential to generate significant positive effects within and beyond their immediate context, including the adaptability of their approaches to different educational settings.
- The significance of the nominee's work in addressing real-world entrepreneurial challenges and its applicability to a broader audience, bridging the gap between academic research and practical entrepreneurship.

European Entrepreneurship Education Award Ceremony
Since 2022, the EEEA ceremony has taken place in connection with ECSB's entrepreneurship education conference, the 3E conference. The 3E conference gathers annually about 100-120 entrepreneurship education researchers and teachers from all over Europe, offering a good venue for presenting the EEEA award winner.
