New student at LUSEM Library

Welcome! Below you'll find some useful library information.

Before you come to LUSEM Library:

To avoid crowding we appreciate if you have done the following before you come to the library.

1. Student account

All students at Lund University receive a student account when they start. You use it to log in to a number of electronic services and resources.

2. LU card

The LU card is your library card and access card. On the LU card web site you will find information on where and when to get your card.

3. Library account

To borrow books you need a library account. Go to the library catalogue LUBcat and select Register a new account. Log in with your student account.

4. Find your books

Before you come to the library, you can find the books that you need in our library catalogue LUBcat. In LUBcat you can see where the book is placed, for example, if the location is "Ekonomihögskolans bibliotek" and the shelf is "Kursbok...", the book is placed in our course book collection. If we have no available copies you can put yourself in the queue.

Where can I study or print?

In the library we have places for both individual and group study. We have eight group rooms that has to be booked in advance. You can use our printer to print and copy.

Adjacent to the library you'll find LUSEM Learning Hub, with several study places and a printer.

Where do I find course litterature?

In the LUSEM Library, you can find course books within all of the school's subject areas. We have at least one reference copy and usually a number of books which you can borrow.

See where the course book is placed in the library catalogue LUBcat. Fetch the book on the shelf, and register the loan with our self service machine. If the book you want is already out on loan, you can queue for it. The loan period is two weeks.

Where do I find digital material, such as e-books, articles and databases?

LUBsearch is the joint entry point to our library resources. Here you find books, articles, journals, dissertations and more.

Our e-books and e-journals are available in ePublications and our subject-specific databases are collected in Databases A-Z

How do I get help if I have reading difficulties?

If you have dyslexia, vision impairment or other reading difficulties you can contact the library for help with obtaining adapted course texts, such as talking books.

The library computers are equipped with support software. You can also install these on your own computer.
