LINC – Lund University Finance Society
LUND UNIVERSITY FINANCE SOCIETY
Lund University Finance Society, also known as LINC, is a student organisation for those interested in finance. The society was founded in 1991 and has since grown to become one of Sweden's largest finance societies with +3,300 members. The purpose of LINC is to provide members with the tools, networks and experiences needed to create a successful career in the financial industry. No prior knowledge is required.
LINC offers inspiring guest lectures, practical analysis groups, workshops, social events, mentoring programmes and organises trips and events to network with companies and banks.
Areas of activity
Research & Analysis (R&A) LINC's research groups form the core of the organisation's educational activities. R&A works on equity analysis, financial modelling and quantitative methods. The work is partly carried out in the Finance Lab, where access to Bloomberg terminals enables data-driven analysis with tools used by industry professionals.
The LINC Female Network is a network that aims to support and inspire women to pursue a career in finance. Through events such as the Female Banking Tour and the Women Business Conference, opportunities are created for networking, skills development and contact with professionals in the industry.
LINC-STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) works to close the gap between STEM students and the finance industry. Members gain knowledge on how to combine subjects like maths and computer science in finance. Each semester, LINC-STEM organises educational workshops in the Python programming language, providing an introduction to programming regardless of your field of study.
Events
To strengthen the community between members, LINC organises recurring social activities such as kickoffs, sittings, business trips and afterworks that contribute to expanded networking and relationship building.
Alumni network
Throughout its long history, LINC has built a strong and engaged alumni network of former members who today work in leading financial institutions in Stockholm, Copenhagen, London and other financial centres. The alumni network acts as a bridge between former and current members and offers continuous opportunities for exchange of experience, mentorship and career inspiration.
