What’s new
Storage still takes place on the R: file server, but you now place and manage your own orders directly in Lucat – no need to go through Servicedesk. This gives you better control, saves time, and reduces administrative hassle. Each storage volume is linked to a project or study, which is retrieved from LUCRIS or added manually by yourself.

Handling data worthy of protection
If your research involves research data worthy of protection, you will still need to order storage trough and work in secure environments like LUSEC or COSMOS-SENS. There is an ongoing work to make this process easier and more seamless, and the cost is now covered centrally – meaning as an individual researcher you will no longer be charged.

The Research Data Office supports researchers and doctoral students throughout the research data lifecycle. If you have questions or need guidance you can contact the university research data support. The support is staffed by faculty data stewards, the faculty libraries research support and archivists.
