Introduction to new employees

At Lund University, a well-executed introduction is important as it creates well-being and a sense of belonging. It is important that the new employee feels well received and gets all the information needed to start working. 

As a new employee at the department you will receive the document Welcome to Informatics. There you will find information about your first working day, who the person responsible for your introduction is, who your mentor is, and your introduction programme.

To get you started

LU access card

You use the LU access card to enter university buildings and rooms. Find information on how to get one and opening hours on the LU card website. 

As soon as you have recieved it, ask Carla Böhme to order access to your office. All other common rooms will be added to your card automatically within 1-2 days. Remember to update your card every day at the stations on the ground floor (hold the card still until the station flashes green).

Lucat

Lucat is the people directory for Lund University. The log in is used as authorisation on your computer and for different IT services and systems to which you need access.

You need to activate your Lucat account with the one-time code provided by the Lucat administrator Carla Böhme before you can start using it. Please, login to your lucat page to update your information (phone number, office number, etc).

Welcome days

The University organises welcome days for all new employees at Lund University. The event are offered in Swedish and English.
