Change in the Employment Protection Act

There has been a change in the Employment Protection Act which has extended a general right to stay in your employment from 67 to 68 years starting from 2020-01-01. However, this age has not yet been extended in the central collective agreements (Villkorsavtalen) and 67 years continue to apply to employees at LU. The Agency for Government Employers is in negotiations with the central unions on changes to the central collective agreements (Villkorsavtalen), so that state employees may also be given the right to remain in employment until 68 years starting from next year. More information will come when the Agency for Government Employers is finished negotiating.
