Our alumni are a powerful extension of the LUSEM community. They carry our values into the world, support our students, and help shape the future of education and research. In our ambition to keep a vibrant and active alumni community at
LUSEM we focus on regular communications, engaging alumni events and platforms for alumni to share their successes.

The LUSEM Alumni relations manager is part of External Relations and work in close collaboration with LUSEM Career Services. The team belongs to the LUSEM Dean’s office, and you find us on the third floor in EC1.

Connecting with alumni
The Alumni Network
The Alumni Network is the University’s alumni directory for alumni, i.e. all former students, researchers and staff at Lund University. Alumni do not automatically become members of the Alumni Network, rather they need to register to gain access to their free lifetime membership. By registering in the Alumni Network, alumni are connected with both the LUSEM Alumni community and the Lund University alumni community.
Encourage students and graduates to join the Alumni Network and stay connected. The stronger our network, the greater the opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and mutual success.

Alumni events
Each semester, LUSEM extends invitations to events designed for our alumni. These events take place both locally in Lund and its surrounding areas, as well as internationally.

The alumni network system
The Alumni network is hosted in a university-wide alumni CRM system provided by Mira Networks. Within LUSEM, we manage alumni who have registered in the Alumni Network within this system. Currently there are over 13 000 LUSEM alumni registered, each with information including e-mail addresses, postal addresses and educational background.

The LinkedIn LUSEM Alumni group
The LinkedIn LUSEM Alumni group serves as a hub for networking, knowledge-sharing and continued collaboration for LUSEM alumni. Alumni and students are welcome to join the group to share achievements, post job ads, pose questions and join in on the conversations.

Graduate Placement Reports
Six months after graduation and three years after graduation all alumni from a LUSEM master’s degree programme receive a survey where they are asked to submit information about their career journey including questions about their first job, salary details and current employer. Results are prepared during the spring semester.

Alumni supporting students
The Mentorship programme
The LUSEM Mentorship programme enables alumni to share their professional and personal experience and expertise with current LUSEM graduate students. The programme runs each academic year and are available to master’s degree students and final year students in the international bachelor programmes at LUSEM.

Student coaches
Alumni can be active as student coaches to students in Ekonomie kandidatprogrammet. Student coaches are connected to a group of students studying their first or second semester in the programme. The student coach is there to support the students and their professional development early on in their education.

LUSEM Alumni Career Talks
LUSEM Alumni Career Talks is a webinar series where alumni share their experiences from working in a specific industry or region in the world. These events offer a unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from professionals. Webinars are broadcasted live for students and young alumni. Recordings are made available on YouTube.

Alumni portraits
Discover how LUSEM alumni are making impact worldwide via the alumni portraits’ website. Digital alumni portraits are used on a regular basis in both student recruitment efforts on the programme pages and as career inspiration for current students.
