In case of emergency
How do we handle crisis situations?
Where to call
Emergency – call 0112 (112 externally)
Don’t forget to dial a 0 before the number from an internal telephone/landline.
PLEASE NOTE: You can now phone 112 without an initial zero from a mobile with an internal connection. It also means that it is possible to call 112 via the SOS Alarm app.
When you phone 112 via the app, you automatically send your position to SOS Alarm, which means it is easier for assistance to arrive at the right place. The app is free and can be downloaded for iPhone and Android via the App Store and Google Play. Please note that calls to 112 via your office landline still require an initial zero, i.e. 0-112.
Read more about the app on the SOS Alarm website
On-call staff at the University – call 20 700
If you need to contact a security officer or the University’s on-call staff, call 20 700. From abroad call: +46 46 222 07 00
Crisis situations
Examples of crisis situations related to the workplace include accidents, serious illness or the death of a colleague, staff cuts, fire, assault, theft and harassment.
Examples of situations outside work that may cause an employee to end up in crisis are deaths or illness in the family, changes in their family situation, drug abuse, crime and accidents.
Whether or not an incident leads to a state of crisis depends not only on the nature of the incident or situation but also on how the victim experiences and reacts to it. People react differently and what is experienced as a crisis by one person can be experienced as threatening but manageable by another. How we deal with a crisis situation is affected by our personality, the current living situation we are in, our previous experiences of traumatic events, etc.

Reporting occupational injuries and incidents
Your manager is obliged to submit a report of an occupational injury you have reported, irrespective of whether he or she considers that it constitutes an occupational injury in the IA-system. The IA system is the University’s system for the digital reporting of incidents and occupational injuries. The system handles reports of injury resulting from
- accidents
- occupational illness attributable for example to psychologically taxing working conditions, repetitive strain or overload injury, hearing impairments resulting from exposure to noise, or eczema or allergy due to exposure to a hazardous substance
- incidents on the way to or from the workplace.
You are to report what has happened by logging in, using your Lucat ID.
