Call for funding: Invite an international collaborator to Lund

A globe. Photo.

LUSEM is offering funding for short-term visits to Lund by international research collaborators. The purpose is to strengthen LUSEM’s international profile by starting or deepening a research collaboration.

The funding can be used for travel and accommodation for a guest researcher during 2025–2026, and the guest is expected to stay in Lund for 2–4 weeks.

The visit should have a clear research goal – for example, working on a co-authored journal article. The funding may also support activities that build long-term collaboration, such as writing a joint research application. Note that granted funds (up to 100,000 SEK, including overhead) must be used during 2025-2026 and should cover travel and accommodation. The guest and the applicant should organize a seminar, open to all employees at LUSEM, during the visit.

The funds cannot be used to cover per diem or salary costs and the guest must be employed at a university outside of Sweden and should not previously have been employed at Lund University. Note that both the applicant and the collaborator must possess a PhD at the time of application.

The application should include:
  • A description of the objectives that will be achieved during the stay (no more than two pages). This may also include more long-term plans for the collaboration
  • A budget as well as the CVs of both the applicant and the guest. When evaluating the proposal’s feasibility, an emphasis will be on the documented scientific productivity of the applicant and the guest.

Applications should be submitted as a single pdf-document to:

margareta [dot] dackehag [at] ehl [dot] lu [dot] se (margareta[dot]dackehag[at]ehl[dot]lu[dot]se) with “LUSEM International Collaboration” in the subject line.

The Faculty leadership will continuously evaluate applications, and it is possible to apply as long as there is funding.
