About the centre

The Knut Wicksell Centre for Financial Studies (KWC) is a finance research centre organized as a collaboration between Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) and the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN) in Stockholm. The goal of the Centre is to conduct high-quality research in finance, and to engage in mutually beneficial collaboration with private and public-sector financial market actors. More specifically, the KWC aims to:

  • Promote research in finance of the highest international standard;
  • Strengthen the interaction between research and private and public-sector financial market actors;
  • Build an attractive environment for research and outreach in the finance area.

In addition, the Centre supports education in finance at all levels.

The KWC draws from the resources of one of Scandinavia’s biggest universities, and hosts some 30 researchers, consisting of permanent and affiliated faculty and PhD students at several departments within LUSEM and at IFN.

The main funding of the Centre is provided by VINNOVA.
