Type of data: Real time as well as historical coverage of market prices including, equity, FX, commodities, bonds and derivatives. Many price series are also available intra-daily. Also covers news, analyst forecasts, macro news, forecasts etc. in real time as well as historically.

Who can use it? All employees and students at Lund University School of Economics and Management

How to access: For employees from the Bloomberg terminals 4th floor of the Alpha building. For students from the Bloomberg terminals in the LINC computer room in the basement of the EC1 building.

 

CRSP

Type of data: US stock return data at daily (and lower) frequency starting 1926 for NYSE, 1962 for NYSE American, 1972 for NASDAQ and 2006 for NYSE ARCA

Compustat/Capital IQ

Type of data: Annual and quarterly accounting data including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, ownership and corporate transaction data, etc., on most publicly listed companies. For US companies some accounting data starts as early as 1950 and for non-US firms accounting data starts in 1985. The database also contains daily security prices from 1983 (US) and 1985 (international).

Who can use it? All employees and students at Lund University

How to access: Go to http://emedia.lub.lu.se/db/show_letter/W click Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS). KWC-affiliated researchers can also access Capital IQ and the Excel plug in using your personal login and students can do this from the LINC computer room.

 

Datastream

Type of data: Historical coverage of global financial and macroeconomic data covering equities, stock market indices, currencies, company fundamentals, fixed income securities and key economic indicators.

Who can use it? All employees and students at Lund University

How to access: Employees have access from their desktop after having installed the Datastream app. If you want the app installed contact LDC. Students have access via the student computers in the Alpha 1 building.

 

Thomson Reuters Eikon

Orbis

Type of data: Global coverage of listed and non-listed companies. Contains companies' financial accounts, credit scores from a number of independent providers, directorships, ownership structures. Very good coverage of small, non-listed companies. Historical coverage: last 10 years.

SPECIALIZED DATABASES

 

Thomson Reuters/LPC DealScan

Type of data: Detailed loan level data on > 300k commercial loans (mostly syndicated) worldwide from 1986 until today. Coverage outside North America is not extensive until the mid-1990s.

Zephyr

Type of data: Global database of deal information containing information on M&A, IPO, private equity and venture capital deals. Links to detailed financial information on the companies involved in the deals.

Type of data: Detailed ownership data for Swedish listed companies including insider trading and short selling information.
