Wellness compensation and medicine reimbursement

A friendly reminder from the HR division about the last date to apply for wellness compensations and medicine reimbursements.

Wellness compensation

Starting in 2024, Lund University will establish November 30 as the last date for applications for wellness compensation.

The reason is that the Swedish Tax Agency's rules mean that the compensation must, as a general rule, be paid during the year in which the application refers to.

Your application file in Primula needs to be completed by November 30 at the latest. You therefore need to register the matter in good time, so that there is a margin for possible additions.

Medicine reimbursement

New rules apply to reimbursement for medicine costs in 2024:

From January 1 (2024), you can only apply for reimbursement for medicine costs once per year of purchase. The application must be registered no later than January of the following year.

You need to prove your costs with a register extract from the “högkostnadsdatabasen” (collected from the E-hälsomyndigheten or via 1177.se).

Also, unfortunately HR are no longer able to make exceptions due to special reasons for cases that arrive late.
