University management proposes closing down LUM

Photo of the cover of LUM

The first edition of Lund University Magazine – LUM – was published 1968. Now the university management proposes to close the newspaper, in both physical and digital form.

In January, the University director will make a decision on adopting a new remit and organisation for Corporate Communication within the Central Administration. Corporate Communication must be able to meet new needs at no extra cost. In this situation, other activities need to be deprioritised. The University Management has identified our staf magazine LUM as an activity that should be reprioritised in favour of other activities.

Via the links in this article you can read more about what LU writes about this in both English and Swedish, there is also a list to sign if you would like to see LUM remain in existence.
