Travel grants for the SANORD conference 22 – 25 September 2026 in Namibia

SANORD (Southern African–Nordic Centre) is a network aiming at facilitating, expanding, and strengthening collaborations and contacts between higher education institutions in southern Africa and the Nordic region. The SANORD annual scientific conference will be held at the University of Namibia 22 – 25 September 2026 and the LU-delegation will be led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Lena Eskilsson. Application for travel grants

Lund University now opens a call for applications for 5 travel grants with the purpose to participate in the annual scientific conference at the University of Namibia 22 – 25 September 2026. Applications from younger researchers at LU with a PhD-degree no later than 2016, and with a submitted abstract for the conference will be prioritised. 

Please, submit your application by 14 April.


Funding opportunities within SASUF (South Africa Sweden University Forum)

SASUF is a collaborative project with 12 Swedish and 26 South African since 2017 which provides funding and networking opportunities. More information about the following opportunities can be found at SASUF:

  • Seed-funding for collaboration with partners at South African partner universities and other African universities (to be announced).
  • Seed-funding for collaboration with partners at South African universities and industry, government, and civil society. Call open 17 March – 10 June, 2026.
  • Funding for arranging a so-called AIM-day to explore how research can solve challenges from private and public actors and civil society. Call open 17 March – 10 June, 2026.
  • Scholarships for fieldwork or data collection for honors and master’s students. Call open 5 August – 15 October, 2026.
  • Scholarships for five to months for doctoral students and for young researchers with a PhD no later than 2022. Call open 2 October – 4 November 4, 2026.
