Events for ERC Starting Grant applicants

four people at an ERC starting grants workshop

European Research Council Starting Grants are open to researchers 0 – 10 years after their PhD, and provide up to €1,5 million for up to 5 years.

The next call is the StG 2027 call, with preliminary deadline in October 2026. Research Services provides support to all researchers at Lund interested in this scheme. Our upcoming events are:

ERC Starting Grants workshop: Open to researchers who are planning to apply for an ERC Starting Grant (StG) with Lund University as their host institution. The workshop will be held in English.

Date:     27 May 2026, 09:00 – 16:00.

Venue:  Auditorium, ‘Inspira’ building, Medicon Village, Lund

Extra session and training camp for ERC Starting Grants: In addition to the ERC workshop on 27 May, Research Services have arranged three connected events with the aim of giving ERC StG applicants an extra boost in the 2027 call. You are welcome to register for these activities if you are planning to apply for an ERC Starting Grant in the 2027 call.

Dates: 8 June (kick-start your proposal writing, receive feedback on your CV/Track Record), 11 June (systematic literature reviews for motivating your proposal) and 19-20 August (two-day training camp).

Please register here (for all Starting Grant events) by 18 May 2026. Contact John [dot] phillips [at] fsi [dot] lu [dot] se (John Phillips) with any questions.
