ECEL 2026 comes to LUSEM: Exploring the future of digital learning

What happens when digital transformation moves from being an addition to education to becoming part of its core?

This is one of the questions at the heart of the European Conference on e-Learning (ECEL 2026), taking place at LUSEM on 22–23 October. The conference brings together researchers, educators and practitioners to explore how digital technologies — and increasingly AI — are reshaping teaching, learning and the wider role of universities in society.

“Educational technology is no longer only about how we teach and learn; it is constantly reshaping how we create and share knowledge, how we interact and make decisions, and how society works as a whole. At the ECEL Conference 2026, we look beyond the technology to explore how we can develop and support new educational frameworks, with a focus on the future of education, including data analytics, learning privacy and integrity, inclusion, and many other important aspect", says Nam Aghaee, Conference Chair and Informatics Researcher at LUSEM.

The programme spans AI in education, blended and distance learning, learning analytics, inclusive education and emerging digital practices, with keynotes, research presentations, practical contributions and opportunities for discussion and exchange.
