About the new Vice-Chancellor, what is important for LUSEM?

Pillars from the University building

In connection with the new appointment of the University's Vice-Chancellor, the Elector College representatives from LUSEM would like to invite staff to an open house discussion at Faculty on 6 February between 13:00 and 15:00.

"We encourage everyone who would like to stop by for a cup of coffee and a conversation about what they consider important in the choice of Vice-Chancellor, to take this opportunity and help us represent LUSEM in the best possible way", says Mårten Sommelius who is one of the electors from LUSEM.

Deadline for applications to the post of Vice-Chancellor is 1 February.

Anyone working at Lund University can nominate a candidate, who should be made aware and accept the nomination and preferably be a professor. The recruitment committee have worked on the specifications for the role and after the deadline they will evaluate the candidates' qualifications, conduct interviews and present a shortlist to the Electoral College for hearings and votes. The University Board is expected to decide on a proposal and present that to the Swedish government in June, and the appointment itself should be made by December.

"I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 6 February", says Mårten Sommelius.
