Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)
Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) is a member of PRME, a United Nations-supported initiative on sustainability. The goal: to transform business and management education through research and leadership.
What is PRME?
The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative, founded in 2007. As a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world, PRME equips today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow.
Working through Six Principles, PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals, while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact.
As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.
What is PRME Chapter Nordic?
The PRME Nordic Chapter consists of PRME signatories from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The first informal meeting of this group was held at Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) in June 2013 during the Sustainability in a Scandinavian Context Conference. In September 2013, a second meeting for the PRME Chapter Nordic was held alongside the 2013 PRME Summit – 5th Annual Assembly in Bled, Slovenia. Following these two meetings, the PRME Chapter Nordic became established on 13 September 2014, after formalising a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chapter and the PRME Secretariat.
