Re-thinking money for a sustainable future
Workshop
Welcome to a workshop on the theme: Re-thinking money for a sustainable future!

What role does our current monetary system play in accelerating climate change and exacerbating inequality? And how are entrepreneurs re-thinking money for a more just, equal, and environmentally sustainable future?
Growing inequality, apocalyptic environmental damage, and the protracted effects of a global financial crisis have resulted in a discussion on the role of our monetary system in the organization of society. At the same time, new technological and financial developments are giving rise to much experimentation on new forms of money.
This workshop looks at how communities, activists and entrepreneurs are re-imagining money for a more sustainable future. Through an interactive game based on the Kenyan community currencies, we will explore how new forms of money can contribute to developing more just, equal and sustainable societies.
Venue: Lecture halls 135 and 136. Holger Crafoord Centre, Lund University School of Economics and Management, Tycho Brahes väg 1, Lund.
