Lund University’s Conference on Educational Development (LUTL)
It is time for Lund University Conference on Teaching and Learning (LUTL). The conference is organised by the faculties and the Department of Higher Education Development (AHU).
This year, Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) is hosting the conference and hereby invites academic staff and students to submit papers for the conference, which has the theme: Cultivating Judgment, Creativity and Critical Thinking in the Age of AI.
The conference serves as a forum for the exchange of experiences, reflection and the development of teaching and learning in higher education. The aim is to gather contributions that highlight current challenges, innovative pedagogical approaches and research related to higher education.
Deadline for submissions: 15 August 2026
Guidelines for submissions
Submissions of abstract must include:
- Title.
- Author’s name, department and faculty.
- Indicate who intends to present and the contact person.
- Abstract of no more than 500 words.
- Specify the language of presentation (Swedish or English).
- Preferred presentation format (see below), including a brief justification.
All submissions will undergo anonymous review by three independent reviewers and students.
Assessment criteria
Submissions must:
- Be relevant for the theme: Cultivating Judgment, Creativity and Critical Thinking in the age of AI.
- Be relevant to higher education.
- Have the potential to be transferable to different educational contexts.
- Contribute to the development of teaching and learning.
- Be grounded in relevant pedagogical literature.
Presentation format
Specify and justify your chosen presentation format, and explain how you plan to deliver the presentation in an interactive manner. Submissions involving collaboration between teachers and students are particularly welcome.
- Workshop
60 minutes, 2 hours or 3 hours. Practically oriented sessions where participants are given the opportunity to actively apply the content in their own context.
- Seminar with preparation
45 minutes. Participants are expected to familiarise themselves with preparatory material in advance, for example:
Text (1000–2000 words).
Podcast or screencast (approx. 5 minutes).
The material must include questions for discussion. The seminar begins with a brief introduction followed by discussion.
- Oral presentation
15 minutes, with an interactive format.
- “My view on the matter”
15 minutes. A short presentation in which participants raise questions, ideas or perspectives related to higher education.
- Round-table discussion
60 minutes. Suggest a topic for discussion and facilitate a conversation with the conference participants.
It is also possible to suggest specific participants or perspectives that should be included in the discussion, such as secondary school teachers, students or other relevant stakeholders, in order to broaden the discussion and create a more multifaceted exchange.
- Other presentation formats
Proposed alternative formats must be clearly described and justified. The estimated duration of the presentation should also be specified.

Timetable
- 15 August: Deadline for submission of abstracts.
- August–September: Review of abstracts.
- End of September: Notification of accepted abstracts.
- October: Conference programme published.
- 24 November: Conference.
