Data Capital Leadership in Financial Service Innovation
When everyone can access the same data, why do some firms win? Open banking exposes a deeper shift in logic – from data as a guarded asset to data as capital in circulation. Building on Watson’s (2020) view of firms as capital creation systems and an empirical study of 22 senior executives from the Swedish open banking market, we explain how firms create asymmetries in data capital productivity and identify the mechanisms that translate symmetric access into competitive advantage.
Speaker: Leona Chandra Kruse, Professor of Information Systems at University of Agder, Norway.
