The Centre was pleased to welcome partners from Lund University, the University of Manchester, IT University of Copenhagen, Linnaeus University, Aalto University, Politecnico di Milano, and Kyoto University.
Among the participants are: Professor Daniel Hjorth, Professor Ricardo Climent, Dr Alexander Gagatsis, Dr Alexandra Huang-Kokina, Professor Sami Brandt, Professor Mikko Sams, Jesper Larsson, Associate Professor Emilio Bellini, Professor Marcelo Milrad, Dr Ahmed Mohammed, Associate Professor Ana Nordberg, Dr Aurelija Lukoševičienė, Dr Courtney Chrimes, Associate Professor Yutaka Yamauchi and Birgitta Persson.
The visit featured a rich and energising exchange of ideas, where representatives came together to brainstorm possibilities, strengthen collaborations, and begin mapping a shared vision of the future.
Jesper Larsson of Lund University led an insightful tour of two local cultural landmarks, Malmö Opera and Malmö Live Concert Hall. The tour introduced the group to the history, future ambitions, and community impact of these remarkable spaces - providing the perfect setting for imagining the future of opera and classical music performance.
The ABC Centre looks forward to continuing this collaboration through a series of activities and workshops across Manchester, Malmö, Copenhagen, and Helsinki.
This network is supported by a partnership-building funding from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Manchester. The next phase of workshops will be supported by the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanities and Society (WASP-HS).
