LUSEM tops Sweden’s spring application lists

Application statistics for studies starting in spring 2026 show that Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM) continues to offer some of the most popular programmes at Lund University – and in Sweden.

Among first-choice applicants, the Bachelor's programme in Business and Economics is the second most applied-to programme at Lund University, and is also the most popular Bachelor's programme in Business and Economics in Sweden. For courses, Economics: Level 1 is the most applied-to course at Lund University among first-choice applicants. 

More than 34,000 people have applied to Lund University's programmes for the spring semester of 2026 in the Swedish national application round. The Bachelor's programme in Business and Economics (Ekonomie kandidatprogrammet) is the second most popular programme at Lund University in terms of the number of first-choice applicants, with 1,316 people choosing the programme as their first choice. Among first-choice applicants, the Bachelor's programme in Business and Economics is also the fifth most popular programme of all programmes in Sweden, and the most popular Bachelor's programme in Business and Economics.  

For courses, Economics: Level 1 (Grundkurs i Nationalekonomi) tops the list as Lund University's most popular course among first-choice applicants, with 426 people choosing the course as their first choice. The list of the ten most popular courses at Lund University also includes Introductory Course in Business Administration (Grundkurs i Företagsekonomi), Intermediate course in Business Administration (Fortsättningskurs i Företagsekonomi), and Introductory Course in Business Law (Juridisk översiktskurs i Handelsrätt).
