International accreditations

accreditations and re-accreditations at LUSEM

International accreditations are an essential part of the quality assurance and development system at the School. LUSEM is triple crowned since 2021, having achieved accreditations by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. All faculties at Lund University must evaluate their education by means of external peer review at least every six years but only LUSEM uses international accreditations to comply with this policy.

The triple crown is a mark of quality only a few business schools around the world can present. It requires continuous, hard work to uphold international standards and stay relevant for students, partner organisations and society as a whole. LUSEM is benchmarked according to international standards but the evaluation is based on the School’s context and strategic direction: What we are, what we do and where we want to go.

Another round in early 2024

The school is evaluated on a regular basis by the three accreditation systems and in early 2024 it is time for EQUIS and AMBA to visit us again. Although both accreditation systems take a holistic view of the School as a starting point, they differ in focus: EQUIS evaluates the entire School, while AMBA gives special attention to general management education (in 2019 LUSEM’s Master’s programme in Management received AMBA accreditation).

Content and activities on all levels

Before the peer review visits take place, we at LUSEM are expected to write and submit reports, assessing our own performance, with special attention to the areas of improvement identified in the last visit. The preparations started already in autumn 2022 and have since then intensified further. The School management team takes the lead but the accreditation process is an all school effort: It requires documentation of content and activities on all levels and, at the same time, offers an opportunity to showcase achievements and developments.
